IHF Co-Director for an orphanage in Indonesia, Kenya and Thailand

International Humanity Foundation (IHF)Babb, MT
If youre looking for a long-term volunteering opportunity, the International Humanity Foundation is offering you the chance to help in one of our education centers and childrens homes in Indonesia, Kenya and Thailand . IHF is looking for hard-working, committed volunteers to help in our childrens homes and education centers. IHF provides education, and in some cases, homes, to children in need in six centers across Indonesia, Thailand and Kenya. IHF has no central headquarters; each center is a product of its environment and follows the cultural code and norms of its host country. The International Humanity Foundation (IHF) is seeking forward-thinking, dynamic individuals of all ages/backgrounds to contribute to our education centers in Indonesia (Bali, Jakarta, Aceh and Medan), and our childrens homes Kenya (Nakuru) and Thailand (Chiang Rai), as part of our Work-Study Volunteer Program. Each IHF center is a product of its environment and follows the cultural code and norms of its host country, so there are different programs in each center. Your work as a volunteer with IHF will be divided between local and international tasks. IHF aims to make use of each volunteers special abilities and to task volunteers with assignments in their chosen field, while respecting volunteers preferences. IHF also allows for volunteers to get complete insight in the running of the specific center and the international organization. By volunteering with IHF you do not only learn about working for an all volunteer NGO, you also get to experience and learn from a foreign culture close up. Locals tasks are teaching English, computer and math classes in our education centers, or assisting with the care of our children and organising activities in our childrens homes. There are also additional projects to help with in all centers, and we encourage volunteers to initiate own programs according to their special skills and interests. All centers are staffed with one or two competent long-term volunteers there to support all other volunteers with their tasks. For your international tasks you will be assigned teams, made up of volunteers in all centers, and work on administrative tasks for not just the center you are staying in, but the whole organisation. Areas assigned include Online Outreach, Media and Fundraising. This is a great opportunity to experience not only the hands on, in-field side of development, but also the overall management and running of an international organisation. Some pre-trip tasks must be completed in order to gain an understanding of the kind of work you will be doing. Please take the time to familiarize yourself further with our organization - www.ihfonline.org. And to our blog http://ihfblog.wordpress.com/home/. If you have any questions at this time, feel free to e-mail one of our helpful volunteers - volunteering@ihfonline.org . If youre ready to apply visit: http://www.ihfonline.org/volunteering.

Here is what past interns have said about their experience at Bennett Aerospace: After completing paid engineering co-op programs for 2 top 100 Fortune 500 companies, I decided to pursue a volunteer internship with Bennett Aerospace. If I had known ahead of time how much experience and knowledge Id gain, I would have bypassed the traditional Big Company co-op program and worked for Bennett Aerospace to accelerate my engineering career. Bennett Aerospace challenges their interns with real-world engineering problems placing you at the forefront of their highly advanced engineering ventures. And expects you to create a solution. I have seen a large chunk of what it means to be an engineer. I got the opportunity to take an idea and turn it into a prototype. I really liked that at this company, I didn't feel like I was just the intern. Occasionally I had typical intern duties, but most of the time I felt more like just another engineer working on a project. This was nice because it gave me a sense of ownership and belonging. I have friends who spent the summer as a lab rat doing the bidding of older graduate students and professors. I on the other hand got a project that I had the freedom to take in almost any direction that I wanted. The duration {of the internship} gave me valuable experience with almost every facet of engineering such as research, planning, material acquisition, manufacturing, programming, testing, and presentation.
