This role will aim at developing students creative and editorial abilities while providing real-world experience. The site's editorial team will be constructing and executing a busy editorial calendar during the summer months. To do this best, our goal is to have a wide array of content (video & text) from of a variety of voices, 'Contributing Writers,' particularly actual college students like yourself. A special part of this vision, is our plan for the Alcohol portion of the site. In constructing this, the initial priority will be to establish recipes and photographs for all basic cocktails. After this, specialty recipes and alcohol related articles and or blogs will be prioritized, to keep this portion of the website growing. What is expected of a Contributing Bartender Writer? Whatever you can commit to. At this point, we have no budget and can not offer any form of monetary compensation. We understand that college students are busy and we want to have mutually-beneficial relationships with our writers. We expect a Contributing Bartender Writer to commit to submitting 2-3 pieces of content every week, as scheduled by the editorial calendar. At minimum, we ask for a commitment of 1 piece of content, every week, as scheduled. Types of content will obviously include Cocktail Recipes, and also Bar related articles and blogs. Writers can choose to author a biweekly or weekly column, or simply contribute one-off recipes and articles. The experience can help you to develop your personal editorial brand, connect with a larger audience & gain writing and editorial experience working with an online publication. All submitted content will be reviewed by our editor, and you will receive feedback when appropriate. The vision for the end of the summer is to have the site be a much more active, content-filled and educational resource for college students. CITY TALK MAGAZINE is a Non-profit 501(c) 3 Organization works with the members of the community have recognized the importance of involvement and education in the Metropolitan Detroit Area. CITY TALK MAGAZINE is unique in that it focuses on Bringing the Pride Back to Detroit and displays professional business advertisement for minority entrepreneurs in the Metropolitan Detroit Area. This will encourage the support of our minority-owned business that has been continuously overlooked. The magazine displays employment opportunities, industry trends, tips and techniques from business professionals and city highlights. In addition to our own in-house staff, we have regular editorial contributions from industry experts and local motivational events. The magazine also contains expert commentary, industry news, and readers feedback. We are currently working with the City of Detroit to create a positive atmosphere in and around the city. CITY TALK MAGAZINE gives back to the community through this FREE Publication. Practical experience in the marketing field to develop knowledge and experience in the practical application of theory to actual problems in a nonclassroom situation. Selected interns will work closely with the New Business, Research & Innovative Technology teams to develop new business presentations and support account management. Interns will also have the chance to interact with senior management, develop their own initiatives and learn strategic planning techniques through the Professional Development Program.
