About the Organization Playworks is a national nonprofit that provides safe, healthy play and physical activity to low-income schools in the city, helping create a positive environment for learning and teaching. Playworks maximizes the value of recess, making play a part of every day ultimately transforming the learning environment for hundreds of schools across the country. We put trained adults on the playground to introduce classic games that are disappearing from schoolyards, like kickball and four-square, as well as new games designed to build leadership and foster teamwork. When Playworks partners with a school, kids are more physically active and they return to class focused and ready learn so the whole school day goes better. About the Position: Playworks Milwaukee is seeking a Social Media and Web intern to assist in the managing and growth of our online presence. Highlights: Flexible hours and training will be provided for all assigned tasks. In addition to support and supervision within the Milwaukee office, you will also connect with our National Social Media Manager. You will be working in a fun and creative environment with the satisfaction of supporting a growing movement across the nation. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to get hands-on experience in a position that combines the web, communications and community-building. This internship will provide hands-on experience working with multiple web tools in an office setting. Day/Hour: Flexible. Typically within the days of Monday to Friday and within the hours of 9:00am - 5:00pm. Commitment: This can be flexible for the right candidate. We ask for 10-12 hours a week for 2-3 months.

Left Forum seeks to fill a part-time fundraising and development internship for the Spring-Summer 2013 periods. This internship starts immediately. This is a three to six month internship or a one or two semester internship and it can be scheduled according to the academic calendar year as needed. We seek a motivated individual interested in learning about fundraising infrastructure and helping to coordinate fundraising and social events. This is an excellent opportunity to develop and hone your event planning, fundraising and non-profit development skills while gaining valuable, high-profile experience in the academic and nonprofit arenas. The position can be molded to fit the individuals strengths and interests. ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP We're a small organization with a dedicated group of organizers, staff, and volunteers, leaving lots of room for your creativity. You'll have the opportunity to work in an interesting (and very relaxed!) office in the CUNY Graduate Center where you'll be interact with scholars and people who are involved with grassroots social justice movements. This internship is unpaid, although academic credit is available. Hours are flexiblewe ask for 15-20 hours a weekand can be adapted to fit your schedule.
