Communications Intern : Work with the Director of Communications & Media Relations, Marketing Coordinator and Communications Associate on a variety of external communications initiativesto include writing for our blog, developing posts for Twitter and Facebook, writing press releases, proofing documents, creating press lists, monitoring local news to inform editorials or letters to the editor, taking photographs and/or creating videos (desired but not required).

We are an internet/media/advertising start up working with small businesses. We provide the infrastructure, connectivity and analytics to enable incremental revenues for retail merchants though connecting them into a localized social business networks. The company just finished development of its technology platform, and are launching beta test in Downtown Jersey City among 30 to 40 merchants. We are seeking an intern who would help support the trial. You will be in constant contact with the merchants participating in the trial helping them to use our platform, design weekly promotions, troubleshoot technology issues and address other issues that may arise. Ideal candidate will be 1. a great communicator; 2. very detail oriented; 3. good project manager; and 4. interested in technology and innovations. We do not have a set hours, but envision that a person will have to spend 3 to 4 hours a day dealing with the merchants. The position is a great way to demonstrate your skills and dedication. If trial is successful the Company will likely raise venture funding which will open up a lot of opportunities for fast advancement.

AskCherado is a blog and weekly radio show that features content on love, life, and leisure topics. AskCherado is seeking an intern to work as the Social Media Manager to assist with efforts related to its web site and radio show on We Act Radio 1480 AM in Washington DC. The blog has also started a new video blogging series and will need assistance with AskCherado UNCUT. The intern would be responsible for building a strong, engaged community for AskCherado.com and its Talk Radio Show. Specific responsibilities include managing all social media accounts and posting content regularly grow our community of followers, friends and subscribers within current social networks and by identifying emerging social networks and platforms evaluating web site usage and trends and providing recommendations for growth engaging with AskCherado bloggers and readers creating a social media plan conducting research on topics interacting with the media as necessary. We are looking for 2 solution-oriented, driven and adventurous individuals with a background in international development, education and/or technology to spend three months in Zambia. What we do: Impact Network is piloting the first eSchools in rural Zambia. The eSchool 360 provides students a quality education for just $3 a month, less than 1/3 the government model. Why we need you: We are in the process of implementing our eSchool pilot project at 10 schools in Zambia. Implementing this project is complex and requires extensive communication between our US executive team and Zambian staff. So far we have had 3 sets of interns, 6 people in total, provide support on the ground--all of them have had incredible and positive experiences. We are looking for a volunteer to travel to Zambia from late February through late may (or longer) to help smooth out the processes (exact dates are flexible). Costs covered: Meals in village Sleeping arrangements in village Laundry in village Round trip airfare Blackberry and internet use Certain bus/taxi fares The challenge, should you choose to accept: Most challenging of all is living in rural Zambia for 3 months. No running water, minimal electric, minimal internet, same basic food every day, minimal entertainment. It is a totally safe and amazing place to live, but extremely different from the US. The Account Coordinator provides assistance to the Account Manager in the day-to-day management of accounts and develops the skills necessary to advance to the position of Account Manager. Duties: Gather and assemble background information and analyses as needed by the Account Manager in development of creative briefs Provide administrative assistance to the Account Manager on day-to-day activities for assigned clients, including responding to client phone calls and emails, handling mail/packages, etc., to ensure continued progress of client workflow Provide input in planning stage as requested by the Account Manager or Director of Production. Assist in mailings, word processing, reports, proposals, correspondence, and other materials related to account service (except billing, production quotes, media plans) and prepare the above for client meetings. Also assist in the compilation and assembly of meeting packets as directed by the Account Manager Handle paperwork and maintain files on all client activities, their competitors and their industries; maintain client correspondence file, approvals, copy, forms/documents, supplies for daily processing and tracking of account service work, etc. Take minutes at meetings and distribute to appropriate personnel as needed Perform other reasonable tasks relating to the mission of Infinity Concepts as assigned
