The Saab Sensis Air Traffic Systems (ATS) Division has an opening for the role of Integration and Test Engineering Co-op/ Intern for Domestic and International Airport Products and Programs. Aviation surveillance encompasses all forms of tracking where aircraft are while in flight and on the surface of airports. Techniques typically consist of a combination of primary and/or secondary radar, multilateration, and ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance broadcast). Sensis specializes in the design and deployment of these solutions, the development of integrated surveillance systems, and the fusion of the information each creates. Our ultimate objectives are to make high-quality HIV/AIDS and malaria care and treatment available to all who need it, and to partner with governments and other stakeholders to strengthen healthcare systems and develop sustainable strategies to overcome obstacles to scale-up. CHAI is truly a global organization, with roughly 650 staff members living in over 40 countries. The Human Resources department, located within the Boston, MA headquarters office, maintains an efficient communication network with all staff. The unique global nature of CHAI necessitates remote access to critical documents and data and the continuous improvement of existing intranet and data management practices. The HR management team has recently identified the need to improve remote access to data files and generally improve the interface of our data management program. The Volunteer, Systems & Knowledge Management will lead the creation and implementation of a new intranet and content management system for the Human Resources department.

Summary of Position: The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is looking for volunteer technical advisors to assist governments in developing proposals for funding from the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund), and in managing approved proposals. The Global Fund is one of the largest sources of funding for the three diseases, and to access resources countries are required to develop a complex, detailed proposal. Technical assistance to support proposal development requires strong coordination with the national government and other donor/NGO partners in country to identify high-priority program areas, the ability to interpret data and synthesize complex documents and issues into clear, straightforward prose, and quantitative skills to put together well-supported budgets and targets. Once resources are approved, governments often require technical assistance in ensuring the funds are effectively and efficiently utilized, and in building the management systems to ensure overall program effectiveness. CHAI provides staff support for the various coordinating, writing, quantification and systems building tasks necessary for a successful proposal and program implementation. CHAI works in close partnership with the Ministries of Health (MOH) in these countries, procuring pediatric and second line ARVs, and providing technical assistance in a variety of areas. The Technical Advisors will work closely with the CHAI country team on the ground to provide technical support to the MOH, cooperating on a regular basis with donors, NGOs and civil society. These are challenging but very rewarding positions, which will have direct and immediate impact on tens of thousands of patients in need of life-saving medications. It is an opportunity to work closely with governments committed to HIV prevention, care and treatment, provide critical skills and build systems, tools and capacity that will enable access to and better management of funds to fight the disease.
