Takoma Park-based nonprofit the Alliance for Green Heat is seeking program fellows to do research and policy work on residential scale renewable heating and to help manage a high-profile wood stove technology competition that will be held on the National Mall in November 2013. Duties will include research and advocacy on local, state and national policy; helping to manage stakeholders in an international design competition including the judges, the teams, federal and state partners and the media; helping to manage event logistics and volunteers. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate who is looking to gain experience in renewable energy, energy policy and technology innovation. Background in renewable energy, climate change, government relations, poverty issues, engineering is desired but not required. Applicants from wood-burning and/or low-income areas are encouraged to apply. This position is full-time. We are looking for candidates who can start in May or June and work for 3 6 months. There is a $500/month stipend.

CELLs Virtual Internship Program (VIP) is a unique internship program designed to introduce college students to CELL, the principles of sustainability, and nonprofits. All VIP positions offer a 20 to 40 hour per week experience for 12 to 15 weeks. Internships are available for Summer and Fall 2013. Although our internships are unpaid, we do offer a $1,000 education award upon successful completion of the internship. Sustainability through life, work, and community CELL is a nonprofit educational organization inspiring students (our future leaders) to bring creative, systemic solutions and environmental stewardship to their individual lives and leadership positions. It is often assumed that ecological sustainability and business are mutually exclusive. VIP was designed to demonstrate that this is not the case. As a Virtual Intern, you will learn the principles of ecological sustainability as it applies to your life, your work, and your community.
