College and graduate students are encouraged to apply for a 2012-2013 Internship at the DC Jazz Festival administrative and production offices located in the Georgetown and Adams Morgan areas. Nonpaid internship. Modest travel stipend may be available. AREAS OF FOCUS: (Interns will be chosen for AT LEAST THREE of the following focus areas) 1) MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS 2) ARTS EDUCATION (PRIMARILY JAZZ AND SOME VISUAL ART) 3) ARTS INTEGRATION IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS; 4) EVENT PLANNING AND PRODUCTION 5) COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT; 6) ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT; 7) ACCOUNTING 8) DIVERSITY 9) ART MANAGEMENT 10) STREET TEAM Period: Minimum of 16 weeks required at 20 hours per week. School Credit and Time Commitment: The internship will be based in the communications, education, accounting, development, and/or production departments. If the applicant is pursuing an internship for school credit, the intern will be expected to provide all forms and school documents to the Program Coordinator to ensure that all school requirements are met. The internship requires a 20-hour week minimum, with some weekends and evenings required for concerts and arts programs. There may be some flexibility of work hours for interns who need to work within their class schedule. Interns will be required to adhere to the negotiated schedule.

The Concept French Tv will thus be an additional channel that will come and complete the network already available in hotels. It will be first launched in Miami and broadcast programs that are different from the existing channels in order to mainly inform and entertain an audience living in the US and whos always eager to listen to new things that concern them. A 7-hour loop will be initially created as a test and will gradually evolve to sustain and develop an actual schedule of TV programs. It is meant under no circumstances to compete with the existing channels on the network, but on the contrary to complete them. It will cover many subjects regarding the French-speaking and francophiles who will even be themselves the actors and witnesses of some programs. Finally, French TV will be a real forum and portal for everyone who want to participate in the program thanks to a dedicated website. The main idea is to create French content made in the USA.
