Interns will gain valuable experience in contract negotiation, sports marketing, and other business fundamentals. Our organization has built website systems that allow students to work in the communities they currently reside in, making this internship accessible for anyone in the country. Sports Authority Ultimate Skills Challenge is searching for candidates unafraid to challenge the current systems and provide constructive feedback. SPECIFICATIONS FOR INTERNSHIP/PRACTICUM Start Date: Students have the flexibility to begin interning with Ultimate Skills Challenge whenever is convenient for them. Internships will begin when student selects a fundraising event and ends upon completion of the event. Ultimate Skills Challenge events require 6 to 8 weeks and 15 to 20 hours a week. If internship hours are insufficient for a students course work, he/she may run 2 fundraising events. Number of Interns needed: Sports Authority Ultimate Skills Challenge has an unlimited amount of Internships available nationally. We can produce 25,000 fundraising events a year. First Stop Veterans Resource Center South was opened specifically for veterans and their families that are homeless and/or at risk of becoming homeless or other have other risk factors. The cause of homelessness among veterans are difficult to disentangle, the same things that predict homelessness among the general population-medical issues, economic hardship, lack of affordable housing , access to support networks and personal characteristics-also predict homelessness among veterans. Veterans, however face the additional challenges when trying to overcome these obstacles. Many veterans are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic-Brain Injury, and physical limitations. Other obstacles identified are highly stressful training and occupational demands that can affect personality, self-esteem and ability to communicate nontransferable skills to civilian jobs and prolonged separations from traditional support systems, such as family and close friends.

This position requires a motivated individual who likes to work with youth ages 7 to16. This position is designed as a mentor position for the youth that utilize the YMCA activity room. The room is filled with fine motor and gross motor games as well as electronic physical activies ( Wii fit games) and art activities. The Coordinator will help these children with homework and organize acitivities and help to motivate and inspire the youth to be purposeful in their choices they enage in. This project is grant funded through UPMC and students with PHEAA funding will be considered first for the position but it will not prohibit the Y from choosing the best canidate for the position.
