We do ask that you get college-credits for this exciting internship. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Our ideal candidate would be journalism major, and would be well-versed in a variety of genres and topics. The candidate must be an extremely good writer; outgoing, reliable and not star struck. You will also conduct phone interviews with artists, so you must have experience in this area, or willing to learn. QUALIFICATIONS: -Preferably, a sophomore or higher in an accredited college. While we do believe in giving people their first chance, we would have to get a feel for the person if they are not at least a sophomore in college -2.5 or better grade-point average -Must be able to work very well independently -Must be outgoing, ambitious, self-starter, innovative and willing to learn. -If you are applying for a PR, editorial, social media or journalism internship you must be great at writing and communicating. Oregon Public Broadcasting offers the Jon R. Tuttle Journalism and Production Minority Internship to increase participation of racial and/or ethnic minorities, as defined by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), who are traditionally underrepresented within public broadcasting. The internship will enable an outstanding student to spend the summer studying the field, full-time, in a hands-on environment. To encourage future generations of compassionate broadcasters and journalists, Oregon Public Broadcasting established the Jon R. Tuttle Journalism and Production Minority Internship in 1994. The internship is in memory of Jon Tuttle, one of Oregon's most respected broadcast journalists who passed away in 1991.
