Marketing Intern

Assassin Bug PressVirtual
Title of Internship: Marketing Intern, Social Media Intern, Writing Intern Location: Anywhere, Chicago preferred Approx. Hours: minimum 8 hours per week (up to 24) Openings: up to 3 Description: Last year a group of five writers (three Medill grads) authored Lyin Cheatin Bastards and self-published the book in October. Now, were looking to get LCB out to the world and move some books. Lyin Cheatin Bastards is a handy, fully illustrated reference guide to some of the nation's most ridiculous political scandals. From small-town mayors to big-time Congressmen, no political party or office is sacred. The book comes with a full color fold-out chart to screen political candidates and features an introduction which breaks down the demographics of the Bastards (and Bastardettes). We're looking for creative and intelligent interns who want to gain real-world experience marketing a book and a web concept. Ideally, we want to turn Lyin Cheatin Bastards into an urban brand the Darwin Awards for lying, cheating politicians. If you're interested in books, politics, Buzzfeed, marketing, America, blogging, humor, crazy people, men or women, apply for this internship. You will have a lot of freedom. The job involves public relations, marketing, blogging, video and social media. To a large extent, you will form the job yourself. This is the perfect position for self motivated students looking to gain experience in the book publishing industry, web politics, and the world of satire and humor. We're happy to accommodate work or school schedules, so the days and hours you work can be built around your schedule. From as little as 8 hours a week to something more substantial, we'd love to get a great person (or small team) on board to help get Lyin' Cheatin' Bastards moving. The book has been featured on radio and TV (WGN in Chicago) and we feel there are additional opportunities in Chicago and elsewhere to promote the book/concept. Were interested in finding motivated, creative individuals who want to increase their skill set and work on a fun project, so feel free to forward this on to a friend, this is not a Medill-only opportunity--and its always more fun to work with people you like. Thats important to us. For the right person, this internship can last a long time and help get them great recommendations from our team when they decide to move on.
