Internship with News for Beginners. News for Beginners is an English learning website that aims to provide news to students who are just beginning to learn English. It is a news papers for learners. The news articles are easy to read and provide real, current information about world events from people who live in different countries. We are looking for one or two students (or graduates) who are interested in journalism and social issues in their country and surrounding area. The selected applicant will write short articles about the current events that are happening in their country. The applicant must be: Able to speak English at an intermediate or advance level Located in the country about which they are writing. Interested in journalism, studying journalism, political science or related topics Able to carefully follow instructions via email Able to get regular access to the internet The selected applicant will be required to: Communicate with the Director of News for Beginners on a regular basis Submit one article per week about an important event, topic or issue happening in their country Applicants must submit: A resume (CV) A picture A cover letter explaining his/her interests, future ambitions and a brief explanation of the issues his or her country is dealing with at the moment. ICAST (International Center for Appropriate & Sustainable Technology) is a local nonprofit organization helping communities use their local resources for their benefit. Through our ResourceSmart initiative, we are bringing energy efficiency to the underserved in the Rocky Mountain Region. ResourceSmart brings an innovative and sustainable tenant education program to address the human element in energy consumption by helping building owners and tenants change inefficient energy use behaviors into sustainable, long lasting, energy efficient action. When such behaviors are combined with building upgrades, overall energy savings are maximized and comfort, health and safety increases. We are looking for students who are interested in engaging with these communities to educate them on energy efficiency and in turn, help those in the community connect with why the changes are taking place and what the benefit to them is.

Leadership Newark is a New Jersey based non-profit organization offering a public policy leadership development program for adults who either live, work or participate in the civic life within the City of Newark that seek to strengthen the City of Newarks civic infrastructure through preparing the next generation of leaders to serve in numerous professional, political and volunteer capacities in the largest city in the State of New Jersey. The 1st Annual Leadership Newark Public Policy Summit will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013. The Summit will be a high profile, PR Worthy day long symposium where nationally known and locally active speakers, thinkers, and doers are coming together in an interactive environment to incubate solutions to specific issues. Think "TED" meets "Public Policy" in Newark. As 2013 commemorates Leadership Newarks 15th Anniversary, a Reunion Celebration will be held that evening closing out the days festivities. You don't have to live, work or attend school in Newark, but if you are New Jersey based (live, work, school), we'd prefer it.
