Gainesville Health & Fitness Centers internship opportunities were designed to give college students the opportunity to gain a more accurate understanding of what it takes to work in the fitness industry. By working closely with several key departments our interns gain firsthand experience in the professional fitness industry. Some of the key departments include Hiring Department, Membership sales, Facility operations, Service departments, Personal training and Marketing. By spending time with each of these departments the student gets the opportunity to understand how all of these departments work together to benefit the company as a whole. Overview: Since 2002, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, CHAI (formerly the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative), has been assisting developing countries in implementing large-scale, integrated HIV care, treatment, and prevention programs. CHAI is currently active in Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, and Eastern Europe. Our ultimate objectives are to make high-quality HIV/AIDS and malaria care and treatment available to all who need it, and to partner with governments and other stakeholders to strengthen healthcare systems and develop sustainable strategies to overcome obstacles to scale-up. CHAI is truly a global organization, with roughly 650 staff members living in over 40 countries. The Human Resources department, located within the Boston, MA headquarters office, maintains an efficient communication network with all staff. The unique global nature of CHAI necessitates remote access to critical documents and data and the continuous improvement of existing intranet and data management practices. The HR management team has recently identified the need to improve remote access to data files and generally improve the interface of our data management program. The Volunteer, Systems & Knowledge Management will lead the creation and implementation of a new intranet and content management system for the Human Resources department.

Located in Breckenridge, Colorado, the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to expand the potential of people with disabilities and special needs through meaningful, educational, and inspiring outdoor experiences. The BOEC began back in 1976 with a staff that consisted of volunteers only, gear that came from their closets, and food that was donated or provided by the clients. The BOEC has come a long way since then. The BOEC offers Adaptive Skiing and Snowboarding, Wilderness Courses (on-site as well as mobile courses), Professional Challenge Courses, and a unique Internship Program. Situated on 39 acres, the BOEC boasts a climbing wall, a high ropes course, high and low team initiatives, rafts, canoes, sea kayaks, cabins, teepees, and much more, as resources for experiential education. Extraordinary things happen here at the BOEC. A man with quadriplegia finds the courage and patience to take on the high ropes course, a woman who is blind feels the thrill of carving down some fresh powder, a group of teenage boys learn what it means to work hard as they set fence ties on a desert farm in Utah - these are mere glimpses of what happens at the BOEC. For more than 30 years, the BOEC has been changing lives, or more accurately, showing people that they have the power within themselves to change their own lives. Becoming a BOEC Intern: The BOECs Internship Program is designed to provide opportunities for individuals interested in Outdoor/ Experiential Education, Therapeutic Recreation, and Recreation Management to gain professional experience and knowledge in this growing field. Position Background and Description The Front Porch Center for Technology Innovation and Wellbeing (FPCTIW) explores the innovative uses of technology to empower individuals to live well, especially in their later years. FPCTIW works collaboratively with all stakeholders and in partnership with funding sources, researchers and technology partners. The Resident Project Volunteer will support and implement activities for the Model eHealth Community for Aging (MeHCA), and will report to the FPCTIW director. The Model eHealth Community for Aging project (MeHCA) focuses on deploying health-related, technology-based activities for a diverse population of senior and disabled residents of the Los Angeles Koreatown neighborhood. The volunteer will provide training, coordination, and support at two affordable housing communities to ensure the goals of the MeHCA project are met to support the transition to technology-enabled healthcare among seniors, the disabled, and project partners.
