Department Overview:
Compensation plays a vital role in ensuring the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Segment is able to attract, retain and engage the right cast by providing competitive rewards in compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations. Our department provides global compensation support for diverse populations across the Segment.

Responsibilities

The Compensation intern will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Gathering and systematically organizing market data, key economic indicators/metrics and compensation regulatory items
  • Working with the Compensation team to create/implement process improvements, identify opportunities for automation and develop online tools
  • Supporting union contract negotiations by conducting field studies, researching contract language and providing reporting and analysis
  • Performing compensation-related audits
  • Participating in other compensation projects as needed


Basic Qualifications These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for this position:

  • Current College Junior or Senior
  • Currently earning a college/university degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or related majors
  • Demonstrated experience with databases and spreadsheets (Access, Excel, etc.)
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to analyze data
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, including SharePoint
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

    It is all about show business at the Walt Disney World Resort! To help set the stage Disneys Horticulture maintains over 4,200 acres of landscaped gardens throughout the Disney Parks and Resorts. Performing 365 days a year the over 3 million bedding plants, and millions and millions of shrubs and trees rely on careful planning, diligent observation, and meticulous research and continued coordination and maintenance.

    Disneys Horticulture cast of over 500 gardeners, arborists, irrigation specialists and pest management technicians plant and maintain this huge outdoor set; playing a very important role in the show.

    Disneys Horticulture is dedicated to creating and preserving the magical guest experience through horticulture. Through these actions, Disneys Horticulture is an exemplary steward of the environment and a source of beauty, refreshment, and inspiration for all who work and play here.

    Responsibilities

    Disneys Horticulture Professional Intern Program is designed to provide qualified students with the opportunity to further their knowledge through practical hands on work experience. Students will be assigned to various regions of the landscape operation. In addition to the work experience students must participate in the program activities, which include weekly seminars, projects and plant/pest identification.
