About Us: The Healthcare Consortium of Illinois (HCI) was formed in 1991 as a coalition of health providers and advocates dedicated to improve the fragmented medical services available for residents of Chicagos south side. Through programs based on the principles of advocacy, awareness and action, the Consortium continues to work to ensure the health and wellbeing of people throughout Illinois. We are looking for energetic intern candidates eager to contribute to our team and our cause. The Administrative & Development Intern will work closely with the Director of the Office of Community Health to support programs and initiatives within the department and develop grant applications to support our work. The Consortium is located 20 minutes south of the loop in south suburban Dolton and is easily accessible via the Bishop Ford Expressway. Ideally, the intern would commit to 15-20 hours per week, though scheduling is flexible. The internship is not a compensated position. However the opportunity to build professional skills and to obtain hands-on experience working at the Consortium may lead to future offers within the health, nonprofit or administrative fields.
