Author/Filmmaker salesperson intern needed for Radio Publicity campaigns
Bryan Farrish Promotion — Santa Monica, CA
We are seeking an information-loving intern for a 50 hour internship to be a part-time salesperson. If you've always thought you would be a good salesperson, and if you love books or indie films, then this is your chance! We won the Book Publicists of Southern California award for Book Publicist of the Year; several of our clients have had half-hour and full-hour interviews on talk radio stations right here in LA (as well as around the country.) Some have even gone on to have their own weekly shows. Radio "listens" are concentrated in particular cities, making it feasible for the author or filmmaker to travel there for presentations. This won't happen with Youtube. And all "listens" on radio are real, not purchased (i.e., there is no "counter" that can be faked). This internship is designed to teach you how to be a full-commission salesperson, selling radio interview campaigns to indie authors and filmmakers. This helps get them exposure that they could not normally get themselves. Later on, you may also get to sell to inventors, speakers, consultants and website owners. Your job as an intern, for 10 hours a week, and for 5 weeks, is to just email indie authors or filmmakers (using leads and sources we provide), to see if they have interest in getting pricing on our campaigns. We handle the rest. Our previous interns have been hired by Warner Music Group, Universal, MTV, the Country radio station in LA, music stores, indie labels, the Whiskey, a film marketing company, and even a New York TV news channel. The internship is for 5 weeks, for at least 10 hours a week, and after the 5 week internship you get to become a salesperson, also for at least 10 hours per week + 20% commission ($500 minimum per sale). There is no pay for the 5 week internship because you are just learning and helping another salesperson, but when you finish the 5 weeks and become a salesperson yourself you will get to sell the campaigns yourself, which start out paying $500 commission per sale and up. Full training is provided, as well as school credit if needed. If school credit is not needed then resume' credit and references are given instead. There is no driving, meetings, or going to events required. You must work from our Santa Monica office which is open Mon-Sat from 8am to 7pm. You must currently live in the Los Angeles area (no relocations) and be able to continue working here as a salesperson for at least 10 hours per week after you finish interning. Call or email and tell us about you: 310-998-8305 ext. 84. No walk-ins. Hope to hear from you! 60 Second Intro to Radio: http://www.radio-media.com/RAB.wmv About Radio: http://www.rab.com/whyradio/RadioFacts.cfm Getting Radio Interviews: http://www.radio-media.com/interviews/articles/main.html Who Listens To Radio: http://www.radio-media.com/RadioDelivers.pdf
