WETA Public Television and Classical 90.9 FM provides internship opportunities designed to help expand students' knowledge and experience in public media and compliment their studies. Interns in the Communications department provide support on a variety of assignments that may include marketing, writing, event preparation, and data compilation. Interns will also support major promotional events that may entail working with several internal departments on event management, publicity, and promotion. They may also have the opportunity to assist at Classical WETA promotional events, conduct preliminary research for upcoming films by Ken Burns, assist with the expansion of WETAs photo archive, and/or assist with the distribution of information to press. Summer 2013 mid June- late August (flexible) Monday-Friday, Full-time or Part-time Description of Duties: Assist with social media marketing (updating the website, Facebook, Twitter). Assist with gorilla marketing plan (placing and moving signs around town, postering at local businesses). Creating a behind the scenes biweekly video previewing the professional season shows. Organizing and chronicling past press clippings. Writing press releases. Helping coordinate print advertising. Some Box Office hours, as needed.

Undergraduate students interested in the Communications Internship will work with the Communications and Marketing Director to develop and organize media lists, submit letters-to-the-editor and be a liaison between PPSP and clients interested in sharing their stories. This is an office-based internship.

The Visitor Research Assistant will support in the creation, distribution, and collection of various surveys within the Cincinnati Art Museum. This position will assist with data analysis by entering and coding sets of data, and by properly organizing and archiving survey materials. The Visitor Research Assistant will also be expected to assist with the data management process, report editing, and large research projects.

Interns will gain experience in television programming, program research and development, production scheduling, studio and location shooting, script-writing, post-production techniques and blogging.
