Software Engineer/Developer Internship (Paid)

Are you a computer science of software engineering student looking to gain incredible real world experience working for a New York web startup that is currently ranked a Top 600 website in the US...and growing? Is your dream to code applications and products that will be viewed and used by millions of people a month? Do you feel passionate about programming and making a name for yourself? PeekYou is a search company focused on indexing the public web around people. The companys primary goal is to index people with their public web URLs. To date, over 250 million people have been indexed. The company was founded by the man behind RateMyProfessors and RateMyTeachers (sites you college students should know well). We are currently looking for a current college freshman, sophomore, junior or senior who can code PHP/MySQL/Linux. You will be working closely with our CTO to develop new products for our search engine. Interns will be compensated weekly (based on previous experience) including a monthly Metro Card for travel expenses. Also, PeekYou as a team goes out to lunch every Friday...make sure you don't have any classes then! This position also has the opportunity to become Full-Time with salary and benefits at PeekYou as a Software Engineer/Developer and/or Lead Developer. This position reports to the CTO of PeekYou.com. Compensation: Did we mention this is a paid internship? You will be working here in our midtown NYC offices approximately 20 hours per week (more or less, depending on how many hours you have available; we can be somewhat flexible). We try to accommodate as many in-person interviews as possible. In some rare cases we do allow interns to work on projects together as partners and you may apply as a team.
