Volunteer Coordinator Internship

The Bridging the Gap Community Center for the Bridge Project is seeking Interns for the Bridge Project. The Bridge Project mission is to support under-served middle school age children through athletic, educational and enrichment programs to help them achieve academic success, develop the personal skills and traits necessary to reach their goals and grow as individuals of sound character and reputation. The Bridging the Gap Community Center is a small grass root and community focused, but successful non-profit looking to expand its mission and services. To do this, Bridge Project is seeking qualified individuals for various internship positions. Because of its structure (with people working remotely from all over the US), BTGCC is looking for independently-driven, but team-oriented individuals who are able to be proactive without direct supervision and with the ability to manage multiple tasks well. In addition, individuals working as interns for BTGCC should be familiar with and committed to upholding and promoting the Bridge Projects mission of supporting under-served middle school age children through athletic, educational and enrichment programs. There are currently five internships available, all of which are unpaid positions. If your school provides internship credit, we are happy to provide assistance securing it. While start and end dates are negotiable for these internships, the Bridge Project is especially interested in candidates who are able to work with our organization for several months (ideally a semester minimum) and those who are willing to work independently with direction as needed (after being trained on the Bridge Project organizational structure).We want someone who is: fun, flexible, creative, a self-starter, and a team player!!! The internship is ideal for at least an associate's degree with 2 years of professional experience, junior professionals with bachelors and students seeking masters or PhDs whose background or experience, degree and majors include Agriculture & Earth care; Environmental Studies & Science; Public Health and Nutrition: Social Work; Mass Communication & Journalism; Business Communications, English, Math, Middle School Education, Marketing, Advertising, Graphic Design, and/or related areas. College Sports Journalist

You love college sports, and you want your work to be seen by as many people as possible. Thats where we come in. On Campus Sports provides students with the opportunity to cover college sports for a national media company. Our relationship with multiple online sports publishers means exposure to potentially tens of millions of college sports enthusiasts as well as possible job opportunities for you in the future. In that regard, On Campus Sports could serve as your pipeline to a career in professional media. We have openings for you to write, photograph or broadcast. We also offer a number of leadership positions for students with excellent editorial and managerial skills. CAMPUS SITE POSITIONS OCS staffs a team of student journalists at Division I universities nationwide. We call these Campus Sites. The Campus Managing Editor leads a Campus Site staff of Writers, Photojournalists and Video Broadcasters, who produce content on a regular basis. You and your staff cover men's and women's varsity athletics at your school and around your conference. You can also produce national stories (for example, pieces on major breaking news or events like the Final Four). COLLEGE SPORTS JOURNALIST Whether you choose to be a Writer, Photojournalist or Broadcaster, you should have a good understanding of AP style, along with a passion for covering sports and a strong work ethic. Writers will: submit at least one article per week (miminum article length: 300 words), focusing on your school's sports teams. You also can produce stories that appeal to regional or national audiences. attach a photo with each article (either your own original image or an appropriate image that resides in OCS's media library). participate in one weekly planning meeting with your fellow OCS staff members. Photojournalists will: capture images of your school's sports teams (based on the teams' events each week). shoot images of athletic facilities and popular campus landmarks. participate in one weekly planning meeting with your fellow OCS staff members. Broadcasters will: capture raw video footage*: This could be a spectacular play at a live sporting event you attend, or capturing the emotion of the crowd during a pivotal moment in a game. This could also entail shooting video from a tailgate party or a local sports bar where students and fans are watching the big game on TV. We're looking for compelling "you had to be there" moments to fill our Raw Video category at each Campus Site. produce edited video packages*: These are typically 90-second to 2-minute segments shot on site or in a studio. We will provide examples of other students' work. participate in one weekly planning meeting with your fellow OCS staff members. *Broadcasters have the option to shoot raw video, produce edited video packages, or both. Not all broadcasters will be required to provide both types of video content, although that is ideal.

Contributing Bartender Writer (English & Journalism Majors)

CollegeRecipes.com is an emerging website that aims to bring simple, delicious and fun recipes, as well as various other entertaining content to college students. This role will aim at developing students creative and editorial abilities while providing real-world experience. The site's editorial team will be constructing and executing a busy editorial calendar during the summer months. To do this best, our goal is to have a wide array of content (video & text) from of a variety of voices, 'Contributing Writers,' particularly actual college students like yourself. A special part of this vision, is our plan for the Alcohol portion of the site. In constructing this, the initial priority will be to establish recipes and photographs for all basic cocktails. After this, specialty recipes and alcohol related articles and or blogs will be prioritized, to keep this portion of the website growing. What is expected of a Contributing Bartender Writer? Whatever you can commit to. At this point, we have no budget and can not offer any form of monetary compensation. We understand that college students are busy and we want to have mutually-beneficial relationships with our writers. We expect a Contributing Bartender Writer to commit to submitting 2-3 pieces of content every week, as scheduled by the editorial calendar. At minimum, we ask for a commitment of 1 piece of content, every week, as scheduled. Types of content will obviously include Cocktail Recipes, and also Bar related articles and blogs. Writers can choose to author a biweekly or weekly column, or simply contribute one-off recipes and articles. The experience can help you to develop your personal editorial brand, connect with a larger audience & gain writing and editorial experience working with an online publication. All submitted content will be reviewed by our editor, and you will receive feedback when appropriate. The vision for the end of the summer is to have the site be a much more active, content-filled and educational resource for college students.
