About Playworks Baltimore: Playworks Baltimore is a part of the national non-profit Playworks Organization. Everyday our organization helps thousands of kids at low-income schools get the safe, healthy playtime they deserve and need during their school day. Our highly trained Coaches (Program Coordinators , PCs) are on the playground full-time introducing games that not only help kids build leadership, self-esteem and teamwork, but also get them focused and ready to learn. As a result of this activity, teachers get students that are focused and ready to learn so that they can make the most out of classroom time. However, our involvement doesnt end at the playground. With after-school programs and sports leagues, Playworks continues to reinforce the value of leadership, self-esteem and teamwork. Our mission of rescuing recess and providing quality playtime has helped improve the learning climate at over 170 schools nationwide.
