Job Description:
The Summer Intern will work in the Mainframe Transaction Systems Programming department. The Mainframe Transaction Systems Programming team is responsible for maintaining and configuring mainframe CICS, IMS and WAS environments; participate in problem determination, performance tuning and system design for current and future initiatives. The student will be responsible for the following:
- Review, audit, optimize and enforce standards of development system environmental files
- Leverage MS Access or SQL to enable CMDB of CICS, IMS and WAS resources. Develop reports leveraging the information.
- Design and develop solutions for automated reporting.
- Managerial/Leadership work activities
- Attend technical/business meetings generate meeting summaries
- Create new and update existing documentation for contingency plans
The successful Summer Intern will have worked with or have experience in:
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel) skills
- Knowledge of SQL and SQL Programming
- Visual Basic Programing
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills
- Good knowledge of computers and servers
- Strong analytical and communication skills both oral and written
TheSummer Intern must be able to work 32-40 during the summer (generally May through August).
Knowledge and Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite Intermediate to Advanced (Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel)
Good Technical Troubleshooting, Analytical
Strong written and oral Communication Skills
Ability to work well within a dynamic, agile team, team player
Leadership skills Positive attitude, take charge mentality and good organizational skills
Working knowledgeable of SQL reporting
Education:
The Summer Intern must be currently enrolled in a degreed college/university program working toward a degree in Computer Science, MIS or related discipline.
