Position Description
Software Intern PRE-PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER (Summer Intern position duration May/June through Aug/Sept): Activities and duties will be to perform design and development of state-of-the art software systems for space-based applications. They will also include requirements and interface definition; software development (code, test, debug, & documentation); maintenance of software development libraries, test reports, and configuration management. Project assignments will try to take into account the Intern academic background, interests and other needs. The intern may join an existing program and work with senior employees who will provide guidance and assistance on a task or may work independently on a specific effort with staff support.

Follows specific, detailed instructions, processes, and procedures. Has a limited understanding of the software development life cycle. Moderate understanding of general job aspects and basic principles, theories, and concepts. Identifies routine problems and seeks guidance when developing solutions. Position Description
This software engineering internship exposes engineering students to real-world complex systems. Interns will participate in software development, requirements functional decomposition, flows and allocation, integration and test. Interns will work with a mentor in a team environment; interact with customers, partners, subcontractors and suppliers. Typical duties include software support roles for development, integration and testing. Tasks include basic software development and scripting in JAVA, UNIX, C++, C#, and C in Windows and UNIX environments. There are several systems engineering intern positions co-located with multiple programs in the Colorado Region including Boeing Aurora, Boeing Colorado Springs, and Boeing Schriever AFB. Internships are generally June through August.
