The Hanover Township Senior Center was dedicated on April 2, 2005. It is a visible symbol of the support that this community has for its elders. A Senior Tax Referendum, "Support Our Seniors," was passed in November 2002 thanks to our seniors whose dedication and hard work incited its passage. This Referendum allowed for the construction and maintenance of a new Senior Center. Opperman Architects, Inc. and contractor, Lamp, Inc. worked along with our Supervisor, Clerk, Board of Trustees and staff to achieve a dream that benefits all adults, age 55 and over, who live in Hanover Township. The Senior Services Department offers a wide variety of advantages to the seniors who live in our Township. We offer transportation, recreational programs and trips, social services as well as many opportunities for volunteerism.

Tyler Arboretum is seeking a student for our Youth Education Internship. This is a great opportunity to gain programming experience at a small, non-profit arboretum. The intern will help the Youth Education Coordinator enhance, plan and implement field trips, scout groups, birthdays and public programs. Applicants should have strong attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a positive personality. Internship is part-time, non-paid. Schedule is flexible. Internship with News for Beginners. News for Beginners is an English learning website that aims to provide news to students who are just beginning to learn English. It is a news papers for learners. The news articles are easy to read and provide real, current information about world events from people who live in different countries. We are looking for one or two students (or graduates) who are interested in journalism and social issues in their country and surrounding area. The selected applicant will write short articles about the current events that are happening in their country. The applicant must be: Able to speak English at an intermediate or advance level Located in the country about which they are writing. This SUMMER 2013 STUDENT internship opportunity is designed to give students experience in facility management, marketing, supervision, aerobic and weight training instruction and health promotion. The health and fitness intern position is 10-12 weeks in length, for 15-20 hours per week, depending on the student's schedule.
