Greater Washington Sports Alliance is looking for qualified interns to join our 2010 Fall semester team. Reporting to the Director of Events, interns will be primarily responsible for supporting day to day activities of the Sports Alliances bid research & development, marketing, communications and event departments. Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), detail oriented, and able to work in a very fast paced environment. Candidates should also be creative, adhere to deadlines, and have excellent verbal and written skills. Overall Roles and Focus: Events Community Outreach Sponsorship and Development Client Services and Donor Relations Bid Support and Research Marketing Communications and Public Relations Events Include (but are not limited to): National Marathon National Health and Fitness Expo Tewaaraton Award SneakerBall Gala Anthem Great Pumpkin 5k 2011 Army Navy Game and Gala Other responsibilities include basic office operations such as storage and inventory, business card entry, data entry and database development, and operational support. A background and knowledge of sports is recommended, but is not necessary. Internship is unpaid, but can be used for college credit. Timing is September to December.
