The Early Stages Program, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that bridges the gap between New York City's world class performing arts community and its underserved public school children. Each year, Early Stages reaches over 15,000 students (K-12th) from the City's diverse population. We are looking for interns who love theater and understand our mission to make New York's cultural world available to as many of the City's young people as possible. In addition to gaining valuable experience interning for an arts nonprofit, interns will have the opportunity to see live theater shows for free. The hours are flexible, one to two days a week with opportunity for growth. Class credit will be given wherever possible. Operating out of a very large space near Pratt University in Brooklyn, our theater group will be exploring new forms and conducting research on pre-school education methods. We will be filming our monthly progress, and have an active web presence engaging in social media and out reach Thus anyone interested in theater, film, video, education, internet, social media, child behavior and how to grow a small organization (through marketing and networking) to a globally operating movement - will be excited about this internship.

Lango, a national foreign-language program, is seeking teachers for its Spanish and Mandarin camps and classes for children (ages 1-10) to be taught throughout Prince Georges County Maryland beginning in the Summer of 2013. We are looking for individuals that are energetic, outgoing and eager to engage children through very fast-paced dynamic and interactive games, movement and music-based classes. A high level of comfort with dramatic play, puppets and physical activities is a must for this job. If you have not done this type of work, make sure will really enjoy it before you contact us! These are extremely fun classes but they require that you be flexible and open to new and creative approaches to teaching a foreign language to young children! Hours and Compensation: Hours are quite flexible. Our classes for Tot & Parent are typically in the am and early afternoon and Pre-school and Elementary classes are in the late afternoon. We also offer classes on the weekends and summer camp from July 15 through August 16. This is an unpaid internship that can be used for college credit or community service hours. New Brooklyn Theater is a 501(c) 3 theater company that is on a mission to purchase and restore the historic theater at 1215 Fulton Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, NY that is in jeopardy of being demolished by condo and retail developers. New Brooklyn Theater (NBT) plans to restore the building and transform it into a 3-stage performing arts center that will develop the work of Brooklyn artists for Brooklyn audiences with strong efforts to also create innovative family and educational programming. New Brooklyn Theater is currently in the first phase of this initiative and have raise over $22,000 for the down payment of the theater. We are in need of 1 or 2 individuals that will assist in continuing to grow our donor roster and help transition into the next phase of restoration. Interns will report directly to the Executive Producer and General Manager of NBT while also being of assistance to the Artistic Director. NBT is seeking candidates with true entrepreneurial spirits who have excellent communication skills, are ambitious with a strong work ethic, and are open to new ideas. All backgrounds will be considered. Candidates with experience or education in non-profit administration, theater, social work, music business, education, marketing, and advertising will be considered first. This is a flexible, part-time, internship position and Interns should expect to work approximately 15 - 20 hours. College credit is available.
