Corpus Christi, TX
Development Services Department is responsible for all planning, development and permitting activities in Corpus Christi. The department brings together building services, civil engineering, planning and zoning, permit applications, major projects and records in a way that customers can access information, start new projects, and get projects approved.
The City Council has identified a successful "One-Stop Shop" Development Center as a community priority. Goals for the department include:
Enhance the City's outreach efforts to promote economic development in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Corporation
Implement new permitting and inspections software, including on-line permitting and inspection request options
Quicker turnaround on inspection results for customer benefits
Implement on-line payment for permit fees
Improvement of infrastructure plan review
Improvement of plat acceptance procedures
Quick, consistent turnaround time on commercial and residential plan review
Implement the Unified Development Code, which will consolidate Zoning, Platting and other associated codes of the City
Provide a front counter area so that over-the-counter business can be transacted for all divisions within the department
In early 2009, Development Services began implementing a new integrated customer service based process. This process is aimed at ensuring our customers improved experience in obtaining more comprehensive information, a more timely and efficient project decision, and the coordinated construction of their project.
