This role will aim at developing students creative and editorial abilities while providing real-world experience. The site's editorial team will be constructing and executing a busy editorial calendar during he summer months. To do this best, our goal is to have a wide array of content (video & text) from of a variety of voices, 'Contributing Writers,' particularly actual college students like yourself. What is expected of a Contributing Writer? Whatever you can commit to. At this point, we have no budget and can not offer any form of monetary compensation. We understand that college students are busy and we want to have mutually-beneficial relationships with our writers. A typical Contributing Writer will commit to submitting 2-3 pieces of content every week, as scheduled by the editorial calendar. ACE Arizona - AmeriCorps Professional Development Internship

450/675/900 hour positions available Work location(s) will take place throughout the American Southwest. Member housing may be based out of Flagstaff, AZ or Hurricane, UT. Summary: American Conservation Experience (ACE), a non-profit conservation youth corps based in Flagstaff, AZ, provides professional development and outdoor project opportunities to young adults from a wide range of backgrounds. ACE crews work on a variety of environmental projects with several land management agencies throughout the American Southwest. ACE is seeking AmeriCorps Professional Development Interns dedicated to working 12, 16, or 24 weeks (450, 675 or 900 hours, respectively) on a combination of trails, fencing, fuels reduction, erosion control, wildlife survey, and ecological restoration projects with land management agencies (National Park Service, US Forest Service, etc.) throughout the western U.S. This opportunity is intended for enthusiastic young adults with a background in an environmental field and/or a dedicated interest in pursuing a career in conservation and environmental stewardship. These internships provide the opportunity to learn and train among professional mentors and participate in the execution of significant conservation and land management objectives. AmeriCorps Professional Development Interns will also gain leadership skills while helping to support ACE conservation volunteers who are rotated through long term projects. Qualifications: Applicants for ACEs AmeriCorps Professional Development Internship must have an established interest in conservation issues and/or a background in Forestry or a similar field, and should take evident joy in tackling challenging situations with a positive mindset. Applicants must be willing to undertake arduous physical work in all types of weather and terrain, and to participate as a team member, dedicated to ACEs mission.
