CollegeRecipes.com is an emerging website that aims to bring simple, delicious and fun recipes, as well as various other entertaining content to college students. This role will aim at developing students creative and editorial abilities while providing real-world experience. The site's editorial team will be constructing and executing a busy editorial calendar during the summer months. To do this best, our goal is to have a wide array of content (video & text) from of a variety of voices, 'Contributing Writers,' particularly actual college students like yourself. What is expected of a Contributing Writer? Whatever you can commit to. At this point, we have no budget and can not offer any form of monetary compensation. We understand that college students are busy and we want to have mutually-beneficial relationships with our writers. A typical Contributing Writer will commit to submitting 2-3 pieces of content every week, as scheduled by the editorial calendar. At minimum, we ask for a commitment of 1 piece of content, every 2 weeks, as scheduled. Additionally, those students interested in editing or marketing may be assigned related tasks. Upon completion of the internship, students will have achieved vital experience and further developed their editorial and writing abilities. Types of content include Recipes, Blogs, How To's, Things We Love, Comics & Video Content. Writers can choose to author a biweekly or weekly column, or simply contribute one-off recipes and articles. Job Description: Our internship will focus mostly on assisting our agency in managing our client base. We have approximately 1000 business clients as well as a handful of individual clients. We do quarterly benefit reviews and we expect that once our interns have been trained that they will be able to conduct these reviews alone. We estimate that the first 3 weeks of their internship will be spent training on product knowledge for our various carriers. Additionally we will sponsor our interns for their Maryland Health and Life producers license so that they can properly represent our company with the appropriate knowledge of the rules and regulations of the insurance industry. This is also a huge benefit of our internship because this license will last for 2 years and will be a very valuable addition to a college students resume when they are seeking full time employment upon graduation. During a servicing appointment the student will be in charge of meeting with employees, searching for claims, answering coverage questions, etc. In the first 30 days of our internship we will pair the student with a senior member of our staff for field training in addition to a general product knowledge training which we conduct at our office. We represent many major carriers such as Aetna, BC/BS, and New Benefits among others. Additionally we will train our interns on How to work with other benefit providers and professional contacts to expand both our client base and our networking base.
