Our Grassroots team is dedicated to organizing students and volunteers to take direct action within their communities for global green solutions to our planet's environmental problems.
Responsibilities:
Phoning membership to recruit and manage volunteers, conducting online research, assisting with organizing events, coordinating media outreach, assisting in the development and distribution of educational materials, and additional projects as needed.
Location:
Greenpeace is looking for Grassroots Organizing interns in the following cities: Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Denver, New York City, Philadelphia, Portland, OR, Raleigh, NC, and Seattle, WA. We also offer a number of other positions based in our Washington, DC and San Francisco offices.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be over 18 but do not have to be current students. Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and multi-task along with excellent written and communication skills. Knowledge of social networking and blogging a plus. Applicants must have a strong desire to work in a fast paced environment and the willingness to learn.
Program Details:
Our Summer internships start June 3rd and end August 9th. Part time and full time positions available. Most positions require a commitment of at least 3 days/week. Each intern is trained and closely supervised by a member of the department to which they've been assigned. We are flexible with your schedule and can help you receive course credit. All internships are unpaid. Unfortunately Greenpeace cannot provide housing.
