Job: AWH Summer Internship Start Date: Immediate ATTENTION ALL COLLEGE STUDENTS PURSUING A CAREER IN PUBLIC HEALTH: Whether your goal is to become a doctor, nurse, hospital administrator, medical assistant or other allied health professional, a summer internship with All Womens Health (AWH) will extend your education beyond the closed classroom door and into a real-world clinic setting. Located in Chicagos Bucktown neighborhood, All Womens Health is a small, female-owned and operated clinic reputable for high-quality, comprehensive patient care. This summer, AWH professionals are opening their clinic to college students pursuing healthcare-focused futures. Those students selected will have the rare opportunity to interact with healthcare professionals directly and benefit from an inside look at patient care few clinics offer. Though this summer-long program will focus primarily on clinical administrative roles and responsibilities, opportunities for participation on the side of direct patient care may arise. Interns interested in enhancing their primary job description with clinical training will be invited on the basis of his or her relevant experience, personal interests, and ongoing work performance. The Office Manager and Director of Outreach for All Womens Health will jointly supervise each participant. Weekly reviews will ensure all current and foreseeable responsibilities are comprehensible as well as respectful of the students work-life balance. Regular check-ins will also be necessary to ensure interns are mastering skills that are both relevant and beneficial to their path toward the profession desired. All AWH internships are unpaid and available for college credit. Participants must commit a minimum of 10 hours of work per week within the clinic setting, but will have some flexibility with how these hours are divided day-to-day. Opportunities for outreach requiring offsite travel are encouraged, but not required. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an academic institution or recent graduates.
