Political Intern wanted to help defend healthcare reform!

Defend HealthcareDallas, TX — Virtual
Get Involved! The insanity began in the name of health care Very few will remember that the first signs (we mean literally) of insanity were about health care reform. As we watched with utter dismay, the administrations young communication machine failing to articulate its strategy about health care, signage of insanity took control of the health care debate and sanity disappeared. Even days before its passage, strong supporters like Lawrence ODonnell of MSNBC predicted that the health care reform bill would never pass. The grip of insanity kept growing larger and larger after the passage of the bill and the administrations response to the insanity continued to be insanely meek. Our call to action to bring sanity in the health care reform debate will start with a challenge to the administration to DEFEND HEALTHCARE reform. Be part of the MOVEMENT! Support your President, healthcare reform, and the administration and help millions of Americans maintain healthcare coverage. Defend Healthcare is looking bright, dynamic, diverse and motivated individuals interested in politics, campaign work and spreading the word on healthcare reform. This is a nationwide movement started by the Melothé Foundation. Leaders within the organization are democratic organizers, directors, and key campaign players. Qualifications: Availability, dependability, and willingness to be flexible Organized, and with attention to detail Interest in politics and the not-for-profit sector Good written and oral communication skills Able to work well independently and as part of a team Comfort using computers and other technologies Enthusiastic and positive attitude toward helping others Demonstrated ability to solve problems and think strategically Duties: You will be involved in making calls, community outreach, street team efforts, mailing campaigns, etc. Commitment and duration: We are looking for part-time interns (approximately 10 hours a week). The movement goes live within the next few weeks. If youve ever wanted to work closely with high level democratic leaders and officers, and make a hands on difference in the world, now is the time and this is the opportunity youve been looking for.
