Arts and Culture/News Intern
Houston Press —
Houston, TX — Virtual
The Houston Press is an alternative weekly, meaning we have an off-beat approach to music, news, the arts, film, food and culture. Don't confuse off-beat with low journalistic standards. We are part of the Village Voice Media publishing family with both weekly print and daily online editions with a wide audience.
Arts and culture interns write about a variety of arts fields (all of the performing and visual arts), as well as cultural topics such as social media, fashion, and more.
News interns write about politics, crime, weird news and more.
Interns spend an average of 12 to 15 hours per week at the office or in the field (attending events and shows, interviewing celebrities, tracking down stories and sources).
These internships are fun, engaging and, most of all, challenging; this is valuable experience for anyone planning on a career in journalism.
