Detailed job description outlining the basic duties/responsibilities of the interns : The Franciscan St. Francis Cardiac Screening Internship is a community outreach program. We work within the hospital and community providing health education programs and health screenings for the public. Interns receive hands on experience in various areas such as: blood pressure readings, finger stick blood draws, and health coaching. Along with patient interaction, the interns are responsible for data entry, answering and making phone calls, writing a monthly newsletter, and a monthly bulletin board. Time frame of the internship: Spring semester Second week of January through the second week of May. Summer Semester Third week of May through the second week of August. Fall Semester Third week of August though the third week of December. Interns will work 40 hours a week for the complete semester timeframe. Location: Currently, the majority of the internship is held at our Indianapolis Campus, 8111 S Emerson Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46237. However, we do travel to various locations for external health fairs for the community.
