DTMB - Vendor Management Process Intern

The Department of Technology Management and Budget (DTMB) State Budget Office-Office of Financial Management-Support Services has a continuous internship opportunity for each semester. The Vendor Management Process Intern will have the following projects and responsibilities. Perform comprehensive review of existing payment interfaces and determine strategies to increase and expand EFT participation and enrollment. Create a plan to implement opportunities. Perform comprehensive review of web based vendor registration system to identify opportunities for enhancements. Establish vendor outreach program to expand web based vendor enrollment and maintenance. Assist in interface conversion projects to expand usage of EFT Payment processes. Assist vendors/payees in using self-service web site. Assist in projects with other agencies to implement changes to interface. Establish plan to implement imaging for vendor registration. Assist with comprehensive review of applicable Financial Management Guide for SSD sections. Activities include establishing and maintaining a plan to have all sections reviewed by appropriate staff.

The Department of Technology Management and Budget (DTMB) Facilities and Business Services Administration, Building Operations Division (BOD), is looking to further develop its Supply Chain Unit. BOD provides for the management and maintenance of 40 State -owned facilities encompassing over nine million square feet of space in various locations. The Supply Chain Unit presently serves over 100 customers by providing materials, supplies, tools and parts, used by trade's staff in these buildings. The Supply Chain Intern will be responsible for assisting the supply chain team in meeting division objectives. This individual will have the opportunity to become an instrumental part of the daily supply chain activities including reporting, analytics, procurement, inventory, process development, logistics and tracking. Other projects and responsibilities will include: Participate in planning meetings. Develop and generate process and procedure documents for critical supply chain functions. Perform data collection, spreadsheet creation and data analysis. The intern will work closely with the manager of the unit as well as the team to implement a commodity strategy to improve upon current processes.
