Looking for interns to assist in our online expansion with regard to creating/editing and updating websites as well as creating marketing materials, logos, signage and other printed and online graphics.

The goal of this project is to establish a 'marketing message'. A simple statement which we can use throughout the company and which can be used to identify and differentiate us within our market. In order to accomplish this we need someone to spearhead a research project comprised of 2 parts 1) compile sales and demographic data from our customer database and 2) Conduct interviews with select customers.

Homes for American Heroes is a community based organization that is here to help our nations heroes. Our success is based upon motivated member of the community that have joined together to assist those veterans that are in need of a helping hand. Our current housing marking precludes most Post 9/11 veterans from providing safe and adequate for their families. In addition we service the veteran community by offering First Stop Veterans 'Office South, the only full service veteran assistance location in Miami-Dade and Broward County

First Stop Veterans Resource Center South was opened specifically for veterans and their families that are homeless and/or at risk of becoming homeless or other have other risk factors. The cause of homelessness among veterans are difficult to disentangle, the same things that predict homelessness among the general population-medical issues, economic hardship, lack of affordable housing , access to support networks and personal characteristics-also predict homelessness among veterans. Veterans, however face the additional challenges when trying to overcome these obstacles. Many veterans are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic-Brain Injury, and physical limitations. Other obstacles identified are highly stressful training and occupational demands that can affect personality, self-esteem and ability to communicate nontransferable skills to civilian jobs and prolonged separations from traditional support systems, such as family and close friends.

Overview This position is intended to serve as the First Stop Veterans Resource Center South (FSVRCS) and Homes for American Heroes (HFAH) link between the community and campus. The community liaison works to support and strengthen current partnerships with community organizations. The position also strives to cultivate and develop new partners with FSVRCS and HFAH.
