As a Systems Development Engineer intern in the DTSS Business Applications Services organization, you will be involved in designing, building, and supporting mobile and web application systems for a variety of employee-facing enterprise products across The Walt Disney Company. Our customers are the various domestic and international business segments across The Walt Disney Company, which include Disney Interactive Media Group, Disney Consumer Products, Disney Studios, ESPN, ABC, ABC News, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Club Penguin, Marvel Comics and others.
Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for participating in a variety of challenging systems and software development projects, in a fast-paced and collaborative environment as part of a larger team of systems engineers and developers. The knowledge and experience you will gain in developing high-performance, highly-scalable web-based systems to meet strategic business goals will be very rewarding.
Basic Qualifications One or more years experience programming or scripting in various development languages (Java, .NET, SAP ABAP)
Good understanding of software frameworks and APIs (PHP-Zend, Spring)
Solid understanding of internet technologies and protocols
Experience in web development in HTML5, Javascript, CSS preferred
Ability to solve complex problems by thinking analytically and creatively
Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Linux and/or Windows Platforms, Scripting and Automation
A DIY hacker mindset with a GTD attitude
Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in person and online
Ability to create detailed documentation, including requirements and technical design diagrams and documents
Ability to take complex issues and present them in easy to understand terms for a broad audience
Understanding of standard and agile SDLC methodologies (Scrum, Waterfall, etc.)
