About the Company: AthleteTutors® is an online math tutoring company geared towards supporting student athletes in grades 6 through 12. Our instructional practices are designed to help students master the Common Core Performance Standards adopted by 46 states, ensuring that student athletes receive instruction parallel to their counterparts nationwide. Each tutoring session is driven by the present academic needs of our students. By the end of each tutoring session, students are able to prove mastery of each skill by demonstrating both concrete (i.e., online whiteboard modeling using graphic tools) and abstract (i.e., online pencil and paper) understanding of the learning objective. Instructional guidance is scaffolded as needed until students are able to demonstrate problem-solving abilities using the online tools/manipulatives provided. Internship Description: The Tutor Intern will gain valuable experience in classroom-standard pedagogy.
