ABOUT BASIC RIGHTS OREGON
Basic Rights Oregon is the states largest grassroots organization dedicated to ending discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, BRO is a progressive, statewide nonprofit organization. Our organizational priorities include racial justice and alliance building, justice for transgender communities, leadership from LGBT & allied youth, and building public support for the freedom to marry.

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
Internship opportunities are available throughout our programs.
Responsibilities and duties include:
Communications intern: The communications intern provides project and administrative support to the Online Media Organizer. Tasks include building content, developing/refining messages, and targeted outreach utilizing Facebook, twitter and email to interact with our base in a two-way conversation about our mission and goals.
Development intern: The development intern will assist the special events coordinator and development director in BROs strategic fundraising plan by assisting in planning and executing special events, house parties, donor outreach and BROs annual dinner.
Marriage Matters intern: The grassroots field intern will assist the field team in recruiting, training and coordinating volunteer leaders to educate the public and build support for marriage equality. Opportunities in Portland and Eugene.
Racial Justice and Alliance Building intern: The Racial Justice and Alliance Building intern assists the organizer and program lead in providing continued racial justice education to activists, moving our base to take grassroots action for racial justice, and helping identify, build and grow relationships with leaders and organizations of color.
Trans Justice intern: The Trans Justice intern will assist the organizer, field manager and Trans Justice Working Group in the campaign to end health care discrimination against transgender Oregonians.
