Responsibilities Public Relations: help create and implement marketing and communications plan, develop promotional opportunities for events, write and distribute press releases. Providence Firefighters IAFF Local 799 is the labor union that represents the fire fighters of Providence, Rhode Island. Local 799 serves over five hundred active and retired members. All officers of the Union serve as firefighters in the Providence Fire Department and are elected by the general membership every two years.
