This volunteer opportunity is unique, with significant responsibility and a real chance to impact our organization. There is regular interaction with staff and constituents as well as flexibility to create your own initiatives. A successful intern will be self-motivated and someone interested in blending business acumen and social profit work. As an intern, you will work directly with the Director of Development on projects related to development and communications. Specifically, the position provides valuable work-experience in an associate or coordinator level position, with management of projects and initiatives. Internship is unpaid, but can count for college credit through support of your college/university. The Campus Companion aims to help college students in all areas of college, offering advice and information on everything from how to budget money, to quick and easy recipes as alternatives to the dining hall, to what to wear to class and parties. Svelte is the fashion wing of The Campus Companion. We are looking for contributing authors for Svelte, particularly those who have an interest in fashion and competent writing skills, and are able to work well with deadlines.

College Pro is looking for individuals who want to gain experience in all aspects of running a business. You will develop skills in marketing, selling, hiring and controlling the finances of a business. We will train you in the skills necessary to run a business and consult with you every step of the way. Responsibility: As a College Pro manager you are the boss and a manager. You will coordinate a marketing campaign with College Pro that includes a direct mail program and professional materials. You will estimate, sell, schedule and manage production You will recruit, train and manage 8-12 employees. You will manage all of the financial aspects of your business. The PreFIX will be hosting an Official Launch as the introduction to a quarterly night out experience. Here, we will provide a diverse audience of women the opportunity to wind down, try out signature cocktails, shop and network. This is a chance for companies to introduce new products and services to guests living and working throughout the New England area. The PreFIX is the official way to begin the night. The PreFIX is currently accepting resumes for interns. We will be hosting four events this year, but the planning process is ongoing. We are currently planning our next event, which will be taking place in November 2012.

The Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino, site of the first U.S. National Championships in 1881, was founded by tennis innovator James Van Alen in 1954 as "a shrine to the ideals of the game." The Tennis Hall of Fame was officially sanctioned by the United States Tennis Association in 1954 and was recognized by the International Tennis Federation in 1986. The Hall of Fame Tennis Clubs operates 13 outdoor grass court, 1 outdoor clay court and 3 indoor courts throughout the year. We separate our operations into two distinct seasons with the outdoor courts playable from May through Sept and the indoor courts playable from Sept into May of each year. An interns concentration embraces the front desk information services, reservations, and financial transactions and record keeping as well as assisting with the Pro Shop sales, court maintenance and member relations. We are looking for students with a high level of people skills, sports management, accounting, finance and marketing. Prior high school or collegiate tennis team participation or avid tennis enthusiast a plus.

This is a position for someone who has vision and is not afraid to take chances. Obstacles of all kinds can be used in a race such as the Bold r Dash. (Safety always being a the forefront of any design). As the obstacle engineering intern you will be working with our building staff and designers to create fun, challenging things for our racers to do. From conception to building, and course design, right through to race day this is a position an eager student, who wants to learn in a real-life atmosphere can sink their teeth into. Work to promote and prepare for WaterFire events as related to the Development department, which primarily involves marketing, fundraising, public relations, and event planning. The internship may be done for academic credit, career exploration, or service learning. The Intern will work in a variety of activities and tasks including: press announcements, sponsorship relations, organizing and project planning, data entry, website maintenance, social media, event management and related items. Interns are expected to participate in all WaterFire lightings. Responsibilities at WaterFire may include: managing volunteers, communicating with and hosting VIPs, reception set-up and breakdown, errand running, managing boat rides, and clean-up.

Work to prepare for and carry out WaterFire, focusing on special events, receptions, performers and operations-related tasks. Partake in a variety of activities including clerical and administrative tasks, assist with event planning and coordination. Assist with set up and breakdown of event venues; work with volunteers to complete tasks and projects, conduct research directed toward event-related artwork and performance.
