Marketing / Business Strategy Internship for the Alliance of Professional Women’s Organizations

Hands on experience launching an alliance that connects 20+ professional womens organizations throughout San Diego County. A team of dedicated leaders is needed to collaboratively work together to develop the mission, vision and goals of the new Alliance of Professional Womens Organizations (APWO); create a user-friendly web site to promote cooperation among all alliance members through event postings and links; conduct interviews and cold calls with all professional womens organizations in San Diego (not for profits and corporate womens groups); and build awareness of APWO through active networking and events. The team will be supported by Hera Hub (an innovative workspace for women entrepreneurs, consultants and writers) and MBA Women International | San Diego in learning organizational and leadership skills. Qualifications: * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Knowledge of social media * Must have transportation * Must be able to work on location at least 2 hours per week. All other time can be done remotely. * Good coordination and organizational skills * Interest in learning web strategies and development * Spanish-speaking or other languages knowledge is beneficial. Candidates must be able to take direction, have initiative, be able to work well independently and in groups, as well as attend periodic evening events. This is a non-paid internship. Applicants must be pursuing a college degree and be seeking school credit. Preference is given to applicants with at least a 3.0 GPA. Previous experience in a marketing environment/internship and involvement with related student organizations is preferred. Applicants must also have the permanent legal right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
