Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-13) is currently seeking a highly motivated, full-time Intern to join her campaign staff. Interns are responsible for both administrative and civic engagement duties. Administrative tasks include assisting the staff assistant with answering phones, greeting visitors, sorting mail, entering data, and drafting correspondence. Civic engagement tasks include performing research, drafting public statements, support for political events and mobilizing the vote. Interns will be taught the inner workings of a fast-paced congressional office: including the differentiation of the branches of government and the national legislative process. There are opportunities to learn about innovative national policies and their impact on local programs and to assist constituents and community organizations of the 9th Congressional District. Also, to have the opportunity to innovate a political campaign strategy.Candidates should be professional and possess strong oral and written communication skills, an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a good sense of humor.
