Preston Bailey Designs is looking for fall interns! The Positions: Editorial Intern: Preston Bailey Designs is looking for an editorial intern! If youre interested in wedding or event planning, the Internet and design, were looking for you. We need a web savvy writer and editor who will work with the PrestonBailey.com staff on editorial projects including writing, copy editing and research. You'll learn what it to takes to publish articles on a website and the ins and outs of the event planning world. The qualified person will be a strong writer and/or editor, computer literate and have some web production knowledge. HTML knowledge is a huge plus, but not necessary. You should also have an eye for design, an artistic interest is encouraged. This position is unpaid, so college credit is mandatory. Marketing/Social Media Intern: Preston Bailey Designs is looking for a Marketing/Social Media intern. He or she will work with the PrestonBailey.com staff on marketing projects including managing the Twitter feed, Facebook profile and any other social media profiles. An interest in reading blogs and being a part of the blogosphere is a major plus! Marketing majors highly encouraged to apply. The qualified person will be Internet savvy, a strong writer and have an intense interest in event planning, Twitter, Facebook, blogs and social networking in general. Our internship program accepts students of all experience levels, from beginner to expert. Being an Alisa Unger Designs intern means that you will gain considerable experience and skills needed to compete for a full time web design/development job after graduation. Sometimes our interns end up joining us full time. As an intern, your job is not to fetch coffee and do busy work - we want you to have creative input in everything that you do! Job Duties/Responsibilities: Create and publish web development projects for clients Meet and speak with clients and possibly manage entire projects on your own Often be expected to make design and development decisions on your own Train to enhance your current skills and to learn new ones Have the time management skills and work ethic to finish your tasks and and projects on time work in house or during you own time Preferred Skills: Advanced to expert knowledge of HTML and CSS along with a good understanding of web standards and cross browser compatibility Understanding of how PHP works and integrates with HTML so you can work well with our backend developers Good web design aesthetic - have a good idea of proper design (graphics, layouts, formats, etc.) for different situations Experience in Photoshop or Illustrator Skills that are a plus: Flash development - Actionscript 3.0 and integrating with XML Good knowledge of Javascript - develop Javascript applications instead of using Flash whenever possible Great web design aesthetic - expert knowledge of Photoshop/Illustrator, able to create beautiful and user friendly website layouts and graphics (this applies to interns who might want to focus in graphic design) Information Design experience Video Production experience WordPress - able to create custom templates and set up sites in WordPress We understand that no one is an expert in every field of Web Design and Development.
