Social Media/ Marketing Internship

CareerEagleSan Francisco, CA — Virtual
CareerEagle (www.careereagle.com) is an early stage start-up, founded in May 2009, with the goal of creating a free library of online videos to help people identify educational paths, select careers, and prepare for interviews. We believe information is power in the job search process, but most career information today isnt that fun to absorb. Typically, descriptions of jobs are lengthy and text-heavy, and words on paper or a computer screen dont really capture what a career is all about. Our user-generated videos are authentic, short (just 3-minutes long), and engaging to watch. They feature real people talking about their real careers. How youll be evaluated: This isnt your everyday internship its a social game. We know youre a full-time student and this is a part-time unpaid internship with many responsibilities. Weve developed a game structure to help you reconcile this dilemma, allowing you to manage your time effectively and helping us track what youve done so we can reward you. Internship Benefits - Professional work experience and references - Networking opportunities, career advice, and personal access to senior management - Leadership opportunity in a high-growth startup - Prizes (cash, gift cards, etc.) based on performance For a full overview of the Career Eagle internship program please visit: http://careereagle.com/internship . Social Media and Project Research for Online Education Company

CareerEagleBurlingame, CA — Virtual
About PathSource: PathSource offers a one stop career education solution. The company solves the #1 problem reported by students in surveys: theres no connection between the classroom and the real world. The core of the PathSource solution is 1-3 minute informational interviews on video produced by an Emmy winning staff (our executive producer has won 3 Emmys and been nominated 12 times) to help young people gain visibility into their options and figure out what to do with their lives. The videos enable students to gain visibility into a wide range of possible jobs and career paths and hear about them directly from people who work in these positions. The goal is to get young people excited about a career and learn exactly what it takes to get there. PathSources platform includes a range of salary, career path and other information, as well as customized online assignments to supplement the videos. About The Role: 1. Managing our social media feeds: This means being the face of the company via social media and aggressively seeking out new followers on Twitter. It's not very time consuming but it is important. 2. Blogging: Writing at least 1 blog post per week about a relevant career/job related subject. These will be 2-3 short paragraphs long. 3. Ad hoc projects: Some of these will be serious research projects like helping us find and apply for various government grants and some of them will be important but more "grunt" work like re-tagging the videos to make them more easily searchable. It's ~15 hours per week with an associated stipend. The main qualifications we're looking for are good writing skills, a good work ethic and someone who we actually want to spend time with. Much of the work can be done from home but we'd like to see you in the office at least once a week if you're in the Bay Area so that we can catch up on how your work is going.
