The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) is currently seeking student interns by semester in an effort to offer an educational and training experience for those interested in a career in marketing, communications, customer service, sales, business management, hospitality, special events, or fundraising. In addition, the CFF also provides students with the opportunity in helping to extend our organizations marketing and event planning efforts by offering fresh and creative thinking that keeps CFF proagrams and events progressive and cutting edge.

The Special Event Intern assists the Executive Director and Development Staff in the planning, implementation and evaluation of assigned events and other chapter programs. The CF Foundations mission is to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, with 80 offices around the United States, offers a limited number of internships to top students interested in hands-on experience at a leading national nonprofit organization. The CF Foundation is currently interviewing candidates for UNPAID internship opportunities at its Central Ohio chapter office. Interested candidates should commit to 6 months or more to experience the entire event planning process and gain the best understanding. The hours are very flexible and we are willing to work with your schedule. Students will work under the guidance of CF Foundation staff, acquiring skills and experience as they assist in the planning and implementation of fundraising events. The experience will include interaction with volunteers and vendors in addition to CFF staff. This is a non-paid internship, which may qualify for academic credit at your institution. For more than 20 years, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has consistently been recognized as one of the most effective and efficient organizations of its kind. Because of the work of the Foundation, people with CF are living longer, healthier lives. Foundation interns will have the opportunity to work with top fundraising professionals while gaining hands-on experience at a leading, National, non-profit organization. The CFF, Metro DC Chapter is seeking a fervent individual to support the foundations aggressive special events schedule and fundraising efforts. Students will work under the guidance of CF Foundation staff, acquiring skills and experience as they assist in the planning and implementation of event-based fundraising events (such as the national Great Strides Walk for CF). Our internship program offers college students the opportunity to gain experience in fundraising, marketing, event coordination, & general non-profit management skills. Students with cystic fibrosis will not be eligible for the internship due to the risk of infection in the interaction with others with CF. Interns will also be expected to perform some administrative duties as needed.
