The company: GeckoCap is an MIT-based, early-stage, health-IT startup that is developing solutions for medication adherence using mobile technology. Founding team includes MD and MIT PhD, both with MIT/Sloan MBAs and prior startup success and we are developing a new product that helps kids manage their asthma medication. GeckoCap was born at the MIT Media Lab New Media Medicine Hackathon where it won the top prize and was also a semifinalist in the MIT 100K BPC. Compensation: Internships are unpaid. Compensation includes use of work product in personal portfolio, work experience in a real-world startup and interaction with experienced founders at a winning Health-IT company and to gain a ton of great online experience. Successful interns may have opportunity to grow with the company. Job description: GeckoCap is a mobile HC IT company, and we are looking for people that share our vision of changing the future of children with asthma and their families. We are seeking 2 smart interns, who are driven and creative with entrepreneurial energy and with strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media and crowed-sourcing websites. The projects include full responsibility for our web presence and development of a Kickstarter project. We are looking for a social media genius who also has experience with creating short films, to help us spread the word about GeckoCap vision. This person will work directly with the CEO and COO and will have the opportunity to interface with various functional elements outside the company.
