Scenic Internship (Theatre)
Orlando Repertory Theatre — Orlando, FL
Orlando Repertory Theatre (The REP) is seeking eager and enthusiastic individuals for a Scenic Internship this summer with our Professional Internship Program. An internship at The REP provides an opportunity to work and learn in a professional environment. Our interns are an extremely important asset in maintaining The REPs presence as a leader in the industry. The REP staff strives to create a comfortable atmosphere for growing and learning while you hone your professional skills and build your portfolio under our wing. Interns at The REP not only get a one-of-a-kind experience from a professional staff; they also have unique access to industry professionals from Disney, Universal, and other leading organizations through networking and career counseling workshops. Interns also benefit from complimentary tickets to REP productions during their stay. Housing is not provided at this time. The Scenic Internship provides a professional experience working in a theatrical scene shop. Each intern has the opportunity to experience and learn industry trades in the shop ranging from the more common woodworking techniques to more complicated metalworking and welding practices. Working closely with the Scene Shop Staff, interns also gain other experience throughout the build process including loading-in, striking scenery, and basic rigging techniques. Applicants should have experience in theatrical carpentry, reading technical drawings, and should be comfortable working with power tools. This internship is based on a 40 hour work week and is paid a weekly stipend. Summer internship dates are from June through August. To apply for an internship, please submit a cover letter and resume to email@example.com. Already found an internship for the summer but are interested in the fall or spring? Contact Carrie Kasten Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on The REPs fall and spring internship opportunities, which include Costuming, Scenic, Stage Management, Lighting, Marketing and Public Relations, and Development internships.
