Intern, Supply Chain

As part of the Ryder team, the responsibilities of an Engineering Intern vary by the function and project that you are working on; below are some of the responsibilities that you could be accountable for:
  • Assignment to specific supply chain project(s) to support a customer or solution.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends and drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to provide quality information and make recommendations.
  • Manage issues to resolution through an isolation, root cause, and closed-loop corrective action process.
  • Provide support for Engineering activities and unscheduled requests.

  • Requirements
  • Currently in pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics or equivalent. Candidate must be at the junior level or higher in curriculum. (3rd year in a four-year program)
  • Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Word

    Information Technology Intern

    The IT Intern - supports the IT department across various disciplines: LAN / WAN, Wireless, Security, Remedy Support, RydeSmart, Service Desk, PC Lab and as assigned. The duration of this internship is between two and three months and is temporary in nature.
    Requirements
  • Must have completed at least four (4) semesters of college or university curriculum and be currently enrolled toward a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS, DIS, MIS or related field.

  • Additional Requirements
    - Strong customer focus and the ability to effectively communicate with management, co-workers and customers.
    - Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload efficiently and effectively.
    - Work well under pressure, successfully meet schedules, work independently while interacting with personnel from differing management levels and produce high quality work with minimal supervision.
    - Strong PC and Software product skills (Windows, MS Office, MS Project, MS Excel), analytical and problem solving skills.
    - Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
    -This position is temporary and may or may not lead to a full time position
    -Desired skills: Informatica and SQL writing. Prior work experience in a BI environment is a plus.

    - Will participate with teams of IT staff and, on a limited basis, client department personnel in the development, implementation and maintenance of computer-based information systems; to install, trouble shoot, maintain and modify computer and network system software; and to perform related duties as assigned.

    Accounting/Finance Intern-MBA

    RyderMiami, FL
    The Accounting/Finance Intern supports the Finance department across various disciplines: Operations Finance, Accounting, Planning, Treasury, Strategy, and/or Audit. The duration of this internship is between two and three months and is temporary in nature.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related field.
    • Must have completed at least one (1) semester of an MBA program with a concentration in Finance or Accounting
    • Intermediate level skills with MS Excel such as freezing/unfreezing panes, hiding/unhiding data, setting print titles page breaks, linking workbooks, creating external links, re-directing links, customizing toolbars menus, protecting a worksheet, filtering options, and chart formatting options.

    Additional Requirements
    -Strong financial, analytical, technical and organizational skills required to support multiple projects.
    - Preference of 2-3 years of work experience with a Fortune 500 company or consulting firm.
    - Meticulous and accurate, with a strong attention to detail.
    - Ability to display confidence in learning new systems and processes quickly and establishing a strong customer rapport.
    - Internship will last approximately 12 weeks.
    Please note: There will be no housing assistance provided for this internship.
    Responsibilities
    Some duties may include: analyzing and updating financial data; designing financial models; providing support in the preparation and analysis of financial reports; developing databases; identifying and recommending opportunities for cost/productivity improvements. Other duties may include: completing month-end close duties; conducting operational and financial audits to determine compliance and evaluating effectiveness of internal controls; and participating in special projects and ad hoc analysis.
