Description: Intern The intern will work with this dynamic fast growing consulting firm, and assist the Imprenta team in a number of activities, special projects, research assignments and administrative duties. We will work with the university in obtaining credit, and can offer great letters of reference, and assistance and referrals for future employment. Desired Qualifications Communications, Political Science, Public Administration, English, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing majors preferred. Good written, verbal communication skills and strong computer skills. Interest in working on political campaigns, serving as a staff member to an elected official or involvement in community organizing for a nonprofit organization. Interest in politics and history of community involvement. Ability to speak Spanish. Location Position located in Sacramento. This is a voluntary position. Internship Summary: Under the supervision of the National Vice President of Sports, Entertainment & Alumni Development, the Research Intern, is responsible for assisting the department with strategic research on celebrities, alumni and supporters. This position will assist with any special initiatives relating to Club appearances, marketing, etc., relative to, entertainment/celebrity and alumni as assigned by the National Vice President What you will be learning: ? Researching and creating profiles on alumni. ? Researching celebrities who have an inclination to represent or give to our organization. ? Researching and creating profiles on celebrities, alumni and their foundations. ? How to compile media outreach related to events. ? How to create and develop follow-up data after the event. What you will be doing: ? Support Sports / Entertainment o Research current trends celebrity entertainment, events, trends o Assist National Vice President, Sports, Entertainment & Alumni Development with managing and updating sports partnership files ? Support Alumni Development o Re-arrange and update Hall of Fame Wall located in the lobby area of BGCA Headquarters o Research alumni strategies ?Perform other duties as assigned by the National Director of Sports, Entertainment & Alumni Development. ?Demonstrate BGCA mission driven values of integrity, excellence and inclusion and integrate into work environment and ways of work. ? Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in BGCAs Employee Handbook, Ethics Policy and elsewhere. What were looking for: Time Commitment: 15 to 30 hours per week from May 20, 2013 through August 2, 2013. There is some flexibility in arranging the schedule, both in hours worked and length of internship. Internship opportunities are available throughout the year. Each student internship requires a minimum commitment of 160 hours of service. Education: Candidates must be an incoming sophomore, junior or senior (undergraduate programs) or graduate student pursuing a degree in hospitality, communications, business or liberal arts. Skills: Candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as demonstrate proper telephone etiquette; detail-oriented; demonstrated high standards of ethics, integrity and eagerness to learn; and interest in working on special events for a non-profit organization. Intermediate Microsoft Word (including mail merge), Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher skills are necessary.
