The position is ideal for a go-getter with a strategic mind and excellent communication skills. The intern will be an integral part of designing and implementing BtBs social media strategy. The position will be based at our Harlem office. The commitment is for one semester, minimum two days per week, hours are flexible. Fall 2013 Business Development & Strategic Partnerships Internship

Description of Account Management Internship The Account Management team, part of the Business Development and Strategic Partnerships Department, is seeking a Fall intern for at least 30 hours a week from mid-late August through December. The Account Management team is responsible for client relationships associated with the ING New York City Marathon and other NYRR events. The intern will assist with the planning of NYRR weekly race events (Gretes Great Gallop, Fifth Avenue Mile, Poland Spring Marathon Kickoff, Race to Deliver, etc.) as well as various marketing aspects of the ING New York City Marathon. Technical Assistance Internship, fall 2010

The intern will have the opportunity to work directly with our technical assistance coordinator, as well as gain exposure to the arts and small business community. In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to attend public events and partner meetings with the staff. Projects & Duties: I. Working under the supervision and direction of the technical assistance coordinator, the intern will support the team in the coordination of our fall 2010 workshops. These, nine, workshops provide education and information to small businesses and arts organizations in topics such as: social media, e-commerce, business planning, book keeping and loan readiness. II. Working with the technical assistance coordinator, the business development and marketing team, the intern will be able to support and be engaged in outreach, and research activities related to our current and potential clients. Fashion Stylist - Fall 2013 Internship

Overview of the Internship Opportunity:
  • Learn the dynamics of different roles as relates to fashion styling, (live broadcast, Showstoppers, dot.com, promos, models)
  • Attain a deeper understanding of a live broadcast in a 24/7 environment that is not taught in class with regard to styling
  • Gain exposure to vendors, merchandising team, producers, models and gain better understanding of how each constituent plays a part in the overall vision
  • If time permits and if the Students desires, we can schedule a shadowing day with the merchandising team to gain a business POV
  • Gain exposure to learning how to read show notes and conduct live shows

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Assist HSN staff and freelance stylists with day to day styling responsibilities and project preparation; (pulling show notes, selecting items for models, aligning wardrobe in order of each show, meeting with vendors
  • Assist in communicating with Producers and review flow sheets prior to airtime and in suggesting changes based on presentation.
  • Assist in directing models during live show presentations (depending on comfort level)
  • Assist in keeping wardrobe area neat and organized.
  • Assist in prepping clothing as needed (ironing etc.).
  • Attend any and all intern meetings and functions
Minimum Requirements:
  • Classes in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising or related. Some experience outside of classes regarding live shows optional, but not required
  • Punctuality is a plus
  • Some knowledge of Fashion designers and fashion industry
  • Some knowledge of HSN is a plus
  • Juniors and Seniors preferred

  • Assembly and installation to include finishing and painting of scenery and props for the live broadcast.

Flowers contemporary art gallery in Chelsea is looking for a gallery assistant for the Spring semester. The intern will be working closely with the manager and director, and will be expected to assist with administrative duties including answering phones, interacting with clients/institutions, organization, assembling mailings, running errands, etc. Additionally, the intern is expected to assist with general gallery maintenance and art handling, such as cleaning, installations, and wrapping, delivering, and shipping artworks. During the term of the internship, there will be several opportunities for special projects involving research, writing, and communication with press outlets. While this is an unpaid internship, this opportunity will provide a wealth of experience for students hoping to pursue a career in the arts at a premier international gallery. Intern must be available to work at least 3 days a week (gallery hours are Tuesday - Saturday 10am-6pm). The ideal candidate will be mature, affable, reliable, organized, and energetic. A background in art history, fine arts, humanities and/or office administration. Candidates should be comfortable using Microsoft office and an understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite (photoshop etc) is helpful but not required. Graphic design experience is a plus.
