Convert! specializes in online marketing for non-profits and universities. Since our founding, we have raised over $8.5 million for our clients. Convert! has also helped organizations accomplish their various missions which include citizen education on the Constitution and American History, taking on government corruption and assisting the needs of wounded veterans. The research intern will work with one specific client that investigates government works and lobbies on behalf of its members. The intern will be managed by Convert! in our Fredericksburg office but will work directly with our client and its leadership and staff.

Takoma Park-based nonprofit the Alliance for Green Heat is seeking program fellows to do research and policy work on residential scale renewable heating and to help manage a high-profile wood stove technology competition that will be held on the National Mall in November 2013. Duties will include research and advocacy on local, state and national policy; helping to manage stakeholders in an international design competition including the judges, the teams, federal and state partners and the media; helping to manage event logistics and volunteers. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate who is looking to gain experience in renewable energy, energy policy and technology innovation. Background in renewable energy, climate change, government relations, poverty issues, engineering is desired but not required. Applicants from wood-burning and/or low-income areas are encouraged to apply. This position is full-time. We are looking for candidates who can start in May or June and work for 3 6 months. There is a $500/month stipend.

CGB Non-Legal Interns generally will be given assignments related to projects arising from the work of CGBs Consumer Affairs and Outreach Division (CAOD), the Web and Print Publishing Division (WPPD), and the Office of Native Affairs and Policy (ONAP). CAOD develops and conducts consumer outreach and education initiatives to inform the public about important Commission regulatory programs. WPPD is responsible for researching, writing, designing and developing electronic and print materials to communicate information on the policies, rulemakings, programs and plans of the FCC, as well as information consumers need to make choices in a competitive communications marketplace. ONAP works to promote the deployment and adoption of communication services and technologies in Native communities and on Tribal Lands. Some interns may focus primarily or solely on the work of one Division/Office, and some may receive assignments from a variety of them. Interns also may be given assignments related to special projects from the Office of the Bureau Chief and other CGB divisions and offices.

The House of Acts is a residential Alcohol & Substance Abuse Treament Program is a Christian based facility designed to create an atmosphere of healing for those whose lives have been impaired by alcohol and other drugs. The House of Acts was founded in 1989 by Hattie Smith-Miles and created to fight the disease of addiction. The House of Acts is licensed by the state of California for both men and women and offers Sober Living to those who have completed treatment and desire the comfort of stability in a clean and sober environment upon completion of residential treatment. Our program is designed to help those with substance abuse become productive members of society and benefit the community.
